TELMISTRUM AMH
Telmisartan (40mg), Amlodipine (5mg), and HCTZ (12.5mg) are also commonly used in combination to treat high blood pressure. This combination medication contains three different types of drugs, each with its own mechanism of action. Similar to Olmesartan, Telmisartan belongs to the angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) class of medications. It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels and raises blood pressure. By blocking angiotensin II, Telmisartan helps to relax and widen the blood vessels, resulting in lower blood pressure.
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that relaxes and widens blood vessels by inhibiting the entry of calcium into smooth muscle cells. By reducing the contraction of blood vessels, Amlodipine helps to lower blood pressure.
HCTZ is a thiazide diuretic that promotes diuresis (increased urine production) to eliminate excess salt and water from the body. By reducing fluid volume, HCTZ helps to lower blood pressure.
STERIS PHARMA Generic medicines are typically much cheaper than brand-name drugs. Generic medicines have the same active ingredients, strength, dosage form, and route of administration as their brand-name counterparts.
