Sacubitril and Valsartan (50 mg)
SACUBRIGHT is a combination of Sacubitril and Valsartan that are used to treat heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF).
Sacubitril is an angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor (ARNI) that works by blocking the breakdown of a hormone called natriuretic peptide. This hormone helps to regulate blood pressure and fluid balance in the body. By inhibiting its breakdown, sacubitril increases the levels of natriuretic peptide, which can help to reduce the workload on the heart and improve heart function.
Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by blocking the action of a hormone called angiotensin II. This hormone constricts the blood vessels and increases blood pressure, which can put extra strain on the heart. By blocking the action of angiotensin II, valsartan helps to relax the blood vessels and lower blood pressure, reducing the workload on the heart.
SACUBRIGHT is thought to be more effective than either medication alone for treating HFrEF. this medication can help to reduce symptoms, improve exercise tolerance, and reduce the risk of hospitalization and death in patients with heart failure.
As with all medications, SACUBRIGHT can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects may include low blood pressure, dizziness, cough, and elevated levels of potassium in the blood.
SACUBRIGHT is available in strengths of 50 & 100 mg.
