PRAZOPRIME is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as alpha-1 blockers. PRAZOPRIME is primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and symptoms associated with an enlarged prostate gland (benign prostatic hyperplasia).
PRAZOPRIME works by blocking the action of alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in blood vessels and certain smooth muscles. By doing so, PRAZOPRIME relaxes and dilates the blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing blood pressure.
PRAZOPRIME is the treatment of hypertension. PRAZOPRIME is also prescribed to relieve urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate gland, such as difficulty urinating, frequent urination, and urgency.
PRAZOPRIME is available in strengths of 1 and 2 mg.
