PERINDPRIM, is a medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. PERINDPRIM belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.
PERINDPRIM works by inhibiting the activity of the angiotensin-converting enzyme, which is responsible for converting angiotensin I to angiotensin II. Angiotensin II is a potent vasoconstrictor that raises blood pressure. By inhibiting this enzyme, PERINDPRIM helps relax and widen the blood vessels, leading to a decrease in blood pressure.
PERINDPRIM is primarily prescribed for the management of hypertension (high blood pressure). PERINDPRIM may also be used in the treatment of heart failure in combination with other medications.
PERINDPRIM is available in strengths of 4 and 8mg.
