Lisinopril (5mg)
LISINOPRIME is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. LISINOPRIME is commonly prescribed to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), heart failure, and to improve survival after a heart attack.
LISINOPRIME works by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme called ACE, which normally helps in the production of a hormone called angiotensin II. By inhibiting ACE, LISINOPRIME reduces the production of angiotensin II, leading to dilation of blood vessels, decreased sodium and water retention, and ultimately lowering blood pressure.
LISINOPRIME is primarily used for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and heart failure. LISINOPRIME is also prescribed to individuals who have had a heart attack, as it helps to improve survival rates and reduce the risk of subsequent heart failure. Additionally, LISINOPRIME may be used in certain kidney conditions, such as diabetic nephropathy, to slow the progression of kidney damage.
LISINOPRIME is available in strengths of 2.5 and 5mg.
STERIS PHARMA Generic medicines are typically much cheaper than brand-name drugs. Generic medicines have the same active ingredients, strength, dosage form, and route of administration as their brand-name counterparts.
