IVADINE is a medication used primarily for the treatment of certain heart conditions. IVADINE works by reducing the heart rate without affecting blood pressure or the strength of heart contractions.
IVADINE is primarily prescribed for the treatment of stable angina pectoris, which is chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart. IVADINE may also be used in patients with chronic heart failure who have a reduced ejection fraction and are already on maximum tolerated doses of beta-blockers or who cannot tolerate beta-blockers.
IVADINE works by selectively inhibiting the funny current (If) in the sinus node of the heart. This reduces the heart rate and therefore the workload on the heart, improving symptoms of angina and heart failure.
IVADINE is available in strengths of 7.5 and 10mg.
