Teneligliptin is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus. It belongs to the class of drugs called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. DPP-4 inhibitors work by inhibiting the enzyme DPP-4, which is responsible for breaking down certain hormones that regulate blood sugar levels. By inhibiting DPP-4, teneligliptin helps increase the levels of these hormones, leading to better control of blood sugar levels.
 teneligliptin inhibits DPP-4, which helps increase the levels of incretin hormones, such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide (GIP). These hormones stimulate the release of insulin and suppress the release of glucagon from the pancreas, leading to reduced blood sugar levels.
