LEVECERTAIN is an antiepileptic drug (AED) that is commonly used to treat and manage seizures in people with epilepsy. LEVECERTAIN is available in tablet and oral solution forms for oral administration, as well as an injectable formulation for intravenous use.
LEVECERTAIN works by inhibiting the abnormal firing of neurons in the brain, which helps to prevent seizures. LEVECERTAIN is believed to work by binding to a protein called synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A) and modulating the release of certain neurotransmitters involved in seizures.
LEVECERTAIN is available in strengths of 250, 500, 750 and 1000mg.
