Sitagliptin Phosphate (100 mg)
GLISITAPTIN is a medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. It belongs to a class of drugs called dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors. Sitagliptin works by increasing the levels of certain hormones in the body that stimulate the pancreas to produce insulin and reduce the amount of glucose produced by the liver.
GLISITAPTIN is taken orally, usually once a day, with or without food. The dosage may be adjusted based on individual response to the medication. It is important to take this medication regularly and as prescribed by a healthcare professional, even if you are feeling well.
Common side effects of GLISITAPTIN may include headache, upper respiratory tract infection, and nasopharyngitis. It may also cause changes in blood sugar levels, or increase the risk of pancreatitis, a rare but serious inflammation of the pancreas. More serious side effects are rare but may include kidney problems or allergic reactions. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should seek medical attention immediately.
GLISITAPTIN is available in strengths of 50 & 100 mg.
