BOSENTIME is a medication used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries that carry blood from the heart to the lungs is abnormally high. BOSENTIME belongs to a class of drugs known as endothelin receptor antagonists (ERAs).
The drug works by blocking the action of endothelin, a naturally occurring substance in the body that causes the blood vessels to constrict and narrow, leading to increased blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries. By blocking endothelin's effects, BOSENTIME helps to dilate the blood vessels, reducing the resistance to blood flow and decreasing blood pressure in the pulmonary circulation.
BOSENTIME is available in strengths of 62.5 and 125 mg.
