Rosuvastatin (40 mg)
ROUSTRIN is a medication used to lower cholesterol levels in the blood. It belongs to a class of drugs known as statins, which work by inhibiting an enzyme in the liver that is involved in cholesterol synthesis.
ROUSTRIN is typically taken orally, once a day, with or without food. The dosage will depend on your medical condition and response to the medication.
Common side effects of ROUSTRIN include headache, dizziness, constipation, nausea, and abdominal pain. It can also cause muscle pain, weakness, and inflammation, as well as an increased risk of developing diabetes. Rarely, it can cause a serious muscle condition called rhabdomyolysis, which can lead to kidney failure. It is important to inform your doctor if you experience any new or unusual symptoms while taking rosuvastatin.
ROUSTRIN can interact with other medications, so it is important to discuss any other medications you are taking with your doctor or pharmacist. It should not be used in patients with liver disease or in pregnant or nursing women.
ROUSTRIN is available in strengths of 5, 10, 20 & 40 mg.
