Moxonidine (0.2mg)
MOXIDIP is a medication used primarily for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). MOXIDIP belongs to a class of drugs known as centrally acting alpha-2 adrenergic agonists. MOXIDIP works by stimulating specific receptors in the brain, which leads to a decrease in sympathetic nerve activity and a subsequent reduction in blood pressure.
MOXIDIP selectively activates alpha-2 adrenergic receptors in the brainstem, which results in a reduction of sympathetic outflow from the central nervous system. This leads to a decrease in peripheral resistance and a lowering of blood pressure.
MOXIDIP is primarily used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) either as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive medications. MOXIDIP may also be prescribed for other conditions such as menopausal flushing, migraine prophylaxis, and opioid withdrawal.
MOXIDIP is available in strengths of 0.2 and 0.3 mg.
STERIS PHARMA Generic medicines are typically much cheaper than brand-name drugs. Generic medicines have the same active ingredients, strength, dosage form, and route of administration as their brand-name counterparts.
