Moxonidine (0.2mg)
MOXIDIP is a medication used primarily for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). MOXIDIP belongs to a class of drugs known as centrally acting alpha-2 adrenergic agonists. MOXIDIP works by stimulating certain receptors in the brain, which leads to a decrease in the sympathetic nerve activity and a subsequent reduction in blood pressure.
MOXIDIP acts on alpha-2 adrenergic receptors in the brain, which helps to lower blood pressure by reducing the release of norepinephrine (a hormone that increases blood pressure). This results in a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance and a reduction in heart rate.
MOXIDIP is primarily used for the treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure without an identifiable cause). MOXIDIP may be prescribed as a monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensive medications.
MOXIDIP is available in strengths of 0.2 and 0.3 mg.
STERIS PHARMA Generic medicines are typically much cheaper than brand-name drugs. Generic medicines have the same active ingredients, strength, dosage form, and route of administration as their brand-name counterparts.
