OLMISTRUM LN is a combination of two medications that are used together to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). They are prescribed together to lower blood pressure more effectively.
Cilnidipine is a type of medication called a calcium channel blocker. It works by blocking the entry of calcium into the muscle cells of the blood vessels, which causes them to relax and widen. This results in a reduction of blood pressure and an improvement in blood flow.
Olmesartan Medoxomil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by blocking the action of a hormone called angiotensin II, which causes blood vessels to narrow and blood pressure to increase. By blocking this hormone, olmesartan helps to widen the blood vessels, which reduces blood pressure and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood.
OLMISTRUM LN works in different ways to lower blood pressure. This combination medication can be more effective than using either medication alone.
