Cilnidipine (20mg)
CILINITAB is a medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It is a calcium channel blocker that works by relaxing the blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing the workload on the heart.
CILINITAB blocks the influx of calcium ions into vascular smooth muscle cells and reduces the contraction of the cells, leading to vasodilation and decreased blood pressure. It is often used in combination with other antihypertensive medications for more effective blood pressure control.
Common side effects of CILINITAB include headache, dizziness, flushing, and swelling in the legs. It may also cause low blood pressure, especially in patients who are dehydrated or taking other medications that lower blood pressure.
As with all medications, it is important to talk to your doctor about any potential side effects and drug interactions before starting treatment with cilnidipine.
CILINITAB is available in strengths of 5, 10 & 20mg.
