CARVEDIOL CR tablets are a medication used for the treatment of certain heart conditions, including high blood pressure (hypertension), chronic heart failure, and left ventricular dysfunction following a heart attack. Carvedilol belongs to a class of drugs known as beta-blockers.
CARVEDIOL CR works by blocking certain receptors in the body, known as beta receptors. By blocking these receptors, CARVEDIOL CR reduces the effects of the stress hormone adrenaline (epinephrine) on the heart and blood vessels. This leads to a decrease in heart rate, blood pressure, and the workload on the heart.
CARVEDIOL CR is available in strengths of 10 and 20 mg.
