-
Azelnidipine (8 mg):
- Azelnidipine belongs to the class of medications known as dihydropyridine calcium channel blockers (CCBs).
- It works by blocking calcium channels in the smooth muscle cells of blood vessels, leading to vasodilation (widening of the blood vessels) and a reduction in peripheral vascular resistance, which helps lower blood pressure.
- Azelnidipine is used for the treatment of hypertension and may also have additional benefits in protecting the heart and kidneys.
-
Telmisartan (40 mg):
- Telmisartan belongs to the class of medications known as angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs).
- It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that constricts blood vessels and increases blood pressure. By blocking angiotensin II receptors, telmisartan helps relax blood vessels, lower blood pressure, and reduce the workload on the heart.
- Telmisartan is used for the treatment of hypertension and may also be prescribed for other conditions such as heart failure and to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients.
