Furosemide: Furosemide belongs to a class of medications called loop diuretics. It works by blocking the reabsorption of sodium and chloride ions in the kidneys, leading to increased urine production. By increasing urine output, furosemide helps reduce fluid retention (edema) and relieve symptoms such as swelling, shortness of breath, and fatigue.

Spironolactone: Spironolactone is a potassium-sparing diuretic that works by blocking the effects of aldosterone, a hormone that regulates sodium and potassium balance in the body. By inhibiting aldosterone, spironolactone helps the body retain potassium while excreting sodium and water. This helps reduce fluid retention and lower blood pressure.
