Tamsulosin (0.4mg), Finesteride (5mg)
TASMULINE F
Tamsulosin is an alpha-blocker primarily used to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland, a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It helps relax the muscles in the prostate and the bladder neck, making it easier to urinate. Tamsulosin is often prescribed to relieve urinary symptoms such as frequent urination, hesitancy, weak stream, and nocturia (waking up at night to urinate).
Finasteride is a medication primarily used to treat male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) and prostate enlargement. At a higher dose of 5mg, it is prescribed to treat symptoms of BPH, similar to tamsulosin. Finasteride belongs to a class of medications called 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors, which work by reducing the production of a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). By blocking DHT, finasteride can help shrink the prostate gland and alleviate urinary symptoms associated with BPH.
