Febuxostat (80mg)
FEBUOXATE
Febuxostat is a medication primarily used to treat hyperuricemia (elevated levels of uric acid) in patients with gout. It is also used to prevent gout attacks by lowering uric acid levels in the body.
Gout is a type of arthritis that occurs when uric acid crystals accumulate in the joints, leading to inflammation, swelling, and pain. Febuxostat works by inhibiting xanthine oxidase, an enzyme involved in the production of uric acid. By blocking this enzyme, febuxostat reduces the production of uric acid in the body, helping to prevent gout attacks and reduce the risk of complications associated with high uric acid levels, such as kidney stones.
