Candesartan (16mg)
CANDISTRUM is a medication that belongs to a class of drugs known as angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). CANDISTRUM is primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure. CANDISTRUM works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a hormone that causes blood vessels to constrict, thus allowing the blood vessels to relax and widen. This helps lower blood pressure and improve blood flow.
CANDISTRUM is primarily prescribed to manage hypertension (high blood pressure). CANDISTRUM may also be prescribed to patients with heart failure, especially those who cannot tolerate angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors.
CANDISTRUM blocks the binding of angiotensin II to the angiotensin II receptor, preventing its vasoconstrictive effects. By dilating blood vessels, CANDISTRUM reduces blood pressure and improves blood flow.
CANDISTRUM is available in strengths of 8 and 16mg.
