Benidipine and Metoprolol Succinate (25 mg)
BENIPRIME M is a combination of two different medications that are used together to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).
Benidipine is a calcium channel blocker that works by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into smooth muscle cells in the walls of blood vessels, helping to relax and widen the blood vessels and thus lowering blood pressure.
Metoprolol succinate is a beta-blocker that works by blocking the effects of certain hormones such as adrenaline, which can increase blood pressure and heart rate. By reducing the effects of these hormones, metoprolol succinate can help lower blood pressure and reduce the workload on the heart.
BENIPRIME M is prescribed to help control blood pressure. Combination therapy may be more effective for some people who have hypertension that is not adequately controlled with a single medication alone.
BENIPRIME M is available in the strengths of 25 & 50 mg.
