BOSENTIME is a medication used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a condition characterized by high blood pressure in the arteries that supply the lungs. BOSENTIME belongs to a class of drugs known as endothelin receptor antagonists.
BOSENTIME works by blocking the action of endothelin, a substance that causes blood vessels to narrow. By inhibiting the effects of endothelin, BOSENTIME helps to widen the blood vessels, reducing blood pressure and improving blood flow.
BOSENTIME is primarily used for the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in patients with WHO Functional Class II-IV symptoms. BOSENTIME can be prescribed for both idiopathic (of unknown cause) and secondary (associated with other conditions) forms of PAH.
BOSENTIME is available in strengths of 62.5 and 125 mg.
