Hydralazine HCl (25 mg)
HYDROZOLIN is a medication used primarily in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It belongs to a class of drugs known as vasodilators, which work by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, thereby reducing resistance to blood flow and lowering blood pressure.
The exact mechanism of action of HYDROZOLIN involves direct relaxation of the smooth muscles lining the walls of the arteries. This relaxation leads to dilation of the arteries, allowing blood to flow more easily and decreasing the pressure exerted on the arterial walls.
HYDROZOLIN has been found to primarily affect the arterioles (smaller blood vessels) rather than the veins. By dilating the arterioles, the medication helps to decrease the resistance to blood flow, which in turn reduces the workload on the heart.
