Luliconazole Cream 1.0% w/w is a topical medication used for the treatment of fungal infections of the skin, such as athlete's foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), and ringworm (tinea corporis). Luliconazole belongs to the class of antifungal medications known as imidazoles.
When applied to the affected area, Luliconazole cream works by inhibiting the growth of fungi, specifically by disrupting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. This disruption weakens the cell membrane and leads to the death of the fungus, effectively treating the infection.
