METAPROLATE XR is a long-acting form of the beta-blocker medication metoprolol.
METAPROLATE XR is used to treat high blood pressure, angina (chest pain), and heart failure. It works by blocking the action of certain chemicals in the body that increase heart rate and blood pressure, thereby slowing the heart rate and reducing blood pressure.
METAPROLATE XR is typically taken once daily, with or without food. Common side effects may include dizziness, fatigue, and low blood pressure.
