Metoprolol SR and Amlodipine  (25 mg)
METAPROLATE AM is a combination of Metoprolol SR and Amlodipine that are two different medications used to treat high blood pressure. They work in different ways to lower blood pressure.
METAPROLATE AM is a beta-blocker medication that works by blocking the effects of the hormone adrenaline on the heart and blood vessels, which reduces heart rate and blood pressure. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker medication that works by relaxing the blood vessels, thereby reducing blood pressure.
METAPROLATE AM can lead to an additive effect on lowering blood pressure. METAPROLATE AM is particularly useful in patients with high blood pressure that is difficult to control with either medication alone.
It is important to follow your doctor's instructions carefully when taking these medications together, as they can cause side effects such as dizziness, headache, and fatigue. Your doctor may also monitor your blood pressure and adjust your dosage as needed to achieve optimal control.
METAPROLATE AM is available in strengths of 25 & 50 mg.
