Telmisartan and Amlodipine
TELMISTRUM AM is a combination of two medications that are prescribed together to treat high blood pressure in adults.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by blocking the action of a hormone called angiotensin II, which can cause the blood vessels to constrict and increase blood pressure. By blocking the action of angiotensin II, telmisartan helps to relax the blood vessels, which can lower blood pressure.
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that works by blocking the entry of calcium into the smooth muscles of blood vessels, which can help to relax the blood vessels and lower blood pressure.
TELMISTRUM AM can be more effective at lowering blood pressure than either medication alone. It is important to closely monitor blood pressure and side effects while taking these medications.
Like all medications, TELMISTRUM AM can cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. Common side effects may include headache, dizziness, nausea, and fatigue.
