Pyridostigmine (60mg)
PDOSTIGAMIN
Pyridostigmine is a medication primarily used to treat myasthenia gravis, a neuromuscular disorder characterized by muscle weakness and fatigue. It is also used off-label for the management of certain other conditions, such as orthostatic hypotension and symptoms associated with autonomic dysfunction.
Pyridostigmine works by inhibiting the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which breaks down acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for transmitting nerve impulses to muscles. By inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, pyridostigmine increases the levels of acetylcholine at the neuromuscular junction, thereby improving muscle strength and reducing symptoms of muscle weakness and fatigue.
