Midodrine Hydrochloride (2.5 mg)
MIDORIGHT is a medication used to treat orthostatic hypotension, a condition characterized by a drop in blood pressure upon standing up. It belongs to a class of drugs known as selective alpha-1 adrenergic agonists.
MIDORIGHT involves its ability to stimulate the alpha-1 adrenergic receptors in the blood vessels, which results in vasoconstriction (narrowing of blood vessels) and an increase in peripheral vascular resistance. This helps to elevate blood pressure and improve blood flow, particularly to the brain and other vital organs.
MIDORIGHT is taken orally as a tablet and is usually administered multiple times throughout the day, with the last dose taken a few hours before bedtime to avoid nocturnal supine hypertension.
MIDORIGHT is available in strengths of 2.5, 5 & 10 mg.
