ROUSTRIN CV is a combination medication that used to treat or prevent cardiovascular diseases, particularly in patients who have recently had a heart attack, stroke, or other cardiovascular event.
Rosuvastatin belongs to a class of drugs called HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors or statins. It works by lowering the levels of cholesterol in the blood, especially the LDL or "bad" cholesterol. This reduces the risk of further cardiovascular events.
Clopidogrel belongs to a class of drugs called antiplatelet agents. It works by preventing platelets in the blood from sticking together and forming clots that could lead to heart attacks or strokes.
ROUSTRIN CV can help to reduce the risk of further cardiovascular events in patients who have already had one. The dosage and frequency of use of these medications depend on the severity of the condition and should be determined by a healthcare provider.
Common side effects of rosuvastatin may include headache, muscle pain, stomach upset, bleeding and bruising more easily than usual.
