Losartan Potassium 50 mg
LOSASTRUM is a medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with an enlarged heart. It works by blocking a substance called angiotensin II, which causes blood vessels to narrow and increases blood pressure. By blocking this substance, LOSASTRUM helps to widen blood vessels, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow.
The usual starting dose of LOSASTRUM for most adults with high blood pressure is 50 mg once daily. However, some patients may be started on a lower dose of 25 mg once daily if they have liver problems, are elderly, or are taking certain medications that may interact with LOSASTRUM.
It is important to take LOSASTRUM as prescribed by your doctor, and to follow any dietary or lifestyle recommendations that they may provide. Side effects of LOSASTRUM may include dizziness, fatigue, and low blood pressure. If you experience any severe or persistent side effects while taking LOSASTRUM, you should contact your doctor right away.
LOSASTRUM is available in strengths of 25 & 50 mg.
