Telmisartan + HCTZ is a combination medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It is a fixed-dose combination of two active ingredients: telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ).
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the action of angiotensin II, a substance that causes blood vessels to narrow, resulting in increased blood pressure. By blocking the effects of angiotensin II, telmisartan helps to relax and widen the blood vessels, thus lowering blood pressure.
